I have seven years of experience working as an English Teacher. In that capacity I have taught classes with ages ranging from three to adult. I was responsible for preparing and planning lessons, using a progressive curriculum, checking students progress and altering lessons, if needed, to suit the needs of the students. What I have learnt over the years is that a teacher needs both patience and a great sense of fun both to meet the challenges in the classroom and to make learning enjoyable. A teacher also needs to be engaging so that the student wants to progress, and also flexible to adjust to the student pace and style. I really enjoy seeing students succeed. For example, I had one boy who started at age three with no English. After five years of teaching him we could talk at length in English.
