Hello, my name is Gill. I am a native English TEFL Teacher and my career has been filled with a wonderful variety of teaching and training roles. I have a Higher National Diploma in Hotel Management from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh. I have been teaching English for 9 years, from children to adults, from Beginners to First Certificate, all preparing for Cambridge English Exams. I have spent 3 years living and teaching English in Spain and have now live in Scotland.
Focussing on conversational English, I can also assist in subjects such as Hospitality, Customer Service, employment, interviewing and recruitment. My lessons are relaxed and flexible, making you feel comfortable and confident about learning English. I use authentic materials to make your experience of learning English as real and natural as possible. Some areas I focus on: - everyday English conversations and vocabulary - personalising our lessons to suit your needs e.g. holiday vocabulary. I offer Business English working on presentation practice and interview skills.
I am friendly and enjoy meeting people of all nationalities and I quickly build a rapport with all my students. I love animals and have a cat and a dog. I love walking with my dog, cooking dishes from all over the world, travelling, music and meeting new people. I hope I have the opportunity of meeting you soon. Employed as an English Teacher in Spain delivering classes ranging from Beginners to B2/First Certificate level for Cambridge English Exams. Delivered SVQ and HNC Food Service Courses at Reid Kerr College, Paisley. Delivered HND courses in Customer Care, Events Management, Food Service and Accounting at Glasgow College of Food Technology. Produced and delivered a Beginners Cooking Course for Glasgow Social Work Department. Delivered group sessions on Job Searching and Interview Techniques for Jobcentreplus to ages 18 – 65 years. Travelled to Russia to deliver a 2-week course on Sales Techniques and Customer Care to Small Business Start-ups. Produced and delivered my Staff Training Programme for my own Catering business. For 10 years was part of the Paisley District Scouts Training Team for new Leaders in the District, ran Beaver Scouts aged 5 – 7 years.
