Hi! I am Jenny, an online Korean teacher with more than 7 years of teaching experience. I have taught Korean to students of all levels (from complete beginners to advanced learners). I started teaching online since 2014. I have taught more than 150 students, ranging from all ages and professions. I am honored to teach a celebrity from Taiwan in 2017. I customize my lesson plans to make sure you get the BEST learning experience. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to helping you with your Korean!
My Teaching Experience
I started out as a volunteer tutor at a university where I helped Korean learners with their pronunciation for three years. I enjoyed my tutoring experience so much that I eventually applied for a teaching job in a Korean academy. I was able to expand my teaching specialty there as I had the opportunity to teach students of all levels. I started teaching students reading, writing, and listening. And some of my students already passed TOPIK level 5! I started teaching online since 2014, and I love it! In a short time, I have taught more than 150 students, ranging from all ages and professions. I was honored to teach a celebrity from Taiwan in 2017. In the same year, I was selected among 20 Korean teachers to write paid Korean learning articles every week. I have written almost 20 Korean learning articles. To further advance my teaching, I studied and completed my TEFL certification in July.
My Teaching Style
I want my students to get the best learning experience possible, so my lessons are tailor made. I provide and use different types of materials to match my students' learning needs. My goal is to provide a comfortable and fun environment for my students so they would enjoy learning Korean.
My Language Learning View
I enjoy learning languages. I have studied Japanese in the past. I can explain basic questions in Japanese. I am always working on my English. I understand the frustration and difficulties a language learner might encounter. My learning philosophy is practice makes perfect. So I highly encourage my students to practice as much as they can. I focus on speaking because I think that is one of the most interesting aspects of learning a language.
