I have a TEFL certificate, a bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education, a master degree in English as a Second Language, and I am currently writing my dissertation for a PhD in Early Childhood Education. I have held a teaching license since 2004. Online education is not new to me, as a portion of my education has been through online and distance learning. I taught kindergarten for one year and second grade for five years. Every class I have taught has included ESL students. I have taught online ESL classes for two years. My hobbies include international travel, reading, scrapbooking, and watching American football and baseball. Another interest is hosting foreign exchange students. We have hosted five students in the last eight years. I believe students learn a new language best when the class environment is positive and the teacher is patient. I like to incorporate props and songs into the classroom because learning can be fun!
