Hello, My name is Erika and I'm from Cusco, Perú. I have been teaching Spanish to students of intermediate-advanced level for more than 2 years. I'm ELE certified by the Tía Tula Colegio de Español and I completed my bachelors in Industrial Engineering. My teaching style is relaxed, patient and engaging. I make lessons comfortable and interesting for students, but I also correct your mistakes and challenge you.
As your Spanish teacher, my goal is to help you reach fluency by giving you the guidance and feedback that you need, improving your Spanish and increasing your confidence so that you'll be prepared for any situation! I emphasize: critical thinking, positivity, an open mind, curiosity and taking risks. We focus on exactly what you need to become a better Spanish speaker, and I don't waste your time on things that aren't practical.
In our classes we will practice both guided and non-guided conversations. Guided conversations are intended to push you past your current level. I like to create engaging classes by using a variety of materials including articles, Ted Talks, videos, books, interviews and other materials both in and outside of class. Non-guided conversations are your chance to speak freely about whatever you want. Here, we will be working on speaking more fluently and naturally. I want my students to focus on the details that are often overlooked or skipped during language learning. Throughout are conversation you will receive feedback and corrections on words and phrases that you have trouble with, along with personalized suggestions on how to improve!
I’m looking forward to speaking with you and helping you achieve your goals!
