Hi let me tell you a bit about myself: I have been teaching ESL to different types of students for five or six years now. I started volunteering to help immigrants learn English through programs that my church was involved with. These had to do with people who had entered a U.N program and had a timeframe during which they had to gain a working knowledge of English. Today, I teach conversation and communication skills. I help people gain experience and practice using English so they can become conversant with their new found skills. I accomplish this in a variety of ways: vocabulary lessons, reading short stories and correcting pronunciation, or perhaps just in everyday conversation about whatever the student cares to speak about. This allows the student to use his new language in a free form manner as any conversation might evolve.
