Ciao! My name is Francesca, I am a teacher of Italian to foreigners and I live and work in Rome, Italy. I started teaching in 2001 in Japan, where I used to teach in videoconference to Japanese students; when I came back to Rome I studied (teaching methodology above all) and I worked for three main schools in Rome to different students: american Universities' students, professionals, tourists from all over the world. In 2018 I started teaching online, and it is a great challenge: it is important, for me, to adapt my method (which I trust) to the online version of a class, focusing on student's motivation and taking out the best from it.
I have a degree in modern languages and literature (Japanese and English) with specific exams on language teaching; in 2005 a attended a specific training course at Dilit International House in Rome and I obtained the DIPLOMA Dilit, Qualification of Italian Teacher to foreigners; in 2006 I got the DITALS II, Qualification of Italian teacher to foreigners at Università deli Studi di Siena in Siena. Since then, I keep participating in recurrent training at Dilit International House in Rome (once a year) and at Società Dante Alighieri in Rome.
My method includes the use of authentic material from the A1 (beginner) to C2 (advanced) level, and each class start with a text (written or oral) which will give the background of the lesson we are going to study. From the general comprehension of the text we will deepen to the specif topic; a lexical analysis will follow and then we move to the grammar focus, always starting from what the student already knows. The lesson always ends with a "free production" on the topic studied: a role play, a written text, a free discussion...all completely in Italian!
