My name is Tania and I am a Canadian English teacher. I am passionate about helping others learn English and I am very patient. I enjoy meeting new people from all over the world and learning about other cultures and languages at the same time.
I have been teaching for 10 years, including teaching high school Literature, English, History, and Social Sciences in Canada. I have also taught internationally, including England, Australia, Italy, and now Chile!
I have my Bachelor of Arts degree, Bachelor of Education degree, and my English as a Second Language Specialist certification.
I am currently learning Spanish in Chile and I have also learnt Italian when I lived in Italy. This gives me an understanding on what it is like to learn a new language through first hand experience. Practicality, pacing, visuals, listening exercises, reading exercises, and conversational classes are very important aspects to learning a new language.
I believe that as a teacher you must take your students' needs and interests into consideration into your planning. I assess diagnostically and formatively to see what my students' learning goals and needs are in order to determine my next steps. Continuous assessments help guide lesson planning and enhance student progress.
