About Me

Hello, my name is Gayle Pieterse. I'm a native English speaker and I have a 120 hour TEFL certification as well as a Bachelor's degree. I have 30 years of teaching experience face to face mostly in South Africa but have also taught in London and have experience in the USA. I am currently tutoring online. I have experience tutoring all ages from 3 years to 20 years old. I have a great rapport with children and believe teaching is my gift. My teaching style is most of the "TPR" method as I believe this works. I like to use props, reward systems and my sense of humor. It is important for me to make my students feel comfortable in my class and confident so that they can speak and learn English with me. I'm passionate about teaching and use my own personal journey to motivate and teach my students. Being a cancer survivor, I'm a motivated individual who knows the value of hard work and perseverance and enjoying what you do, so I enjoy what I do and don't miss an opportunity to make a difference in life on a daily basis!
