Languages are the gateway to communication. I believe that everything starts with a conversation. So, my profession is
not only teaching non-English speakers how to speak English, but to help them create opportunities for themselves in
their professional and academic careers around the world. After teaching myself how to speak Portuguese, I started
learning Swahili and Spanish so I know the struggles of learning a new language and breaking communication barriers.
I use both formal and informal ways of teaching a student a new language, as I have had to create different methods
in teaching a mixed class of Spanish, Arabic and Portuguese speakers. I also agree that language is best clarified
through the context of something relevant, innovative, and informal as well because every learner is different.
