Hi, guys! My name is Mariano. I am a native English teacher from the United States, and I have a neutral North American accent.
I have five years of teaching experience, about four years teaching English conversationally and a year and a half teaching college-level philosophy and Spanish in the United States. In addition, I have a master's degree in Classical Literatures and Sciences from St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland, USA and an undergraduate degree in philosophy and sociology from University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, USA.
My teaching style is conversational. In the classroom I like to tailor my lessons to students' needs by focusing on students' specific, repeated problems with English. That way we correct these problems and create good habits! I am easy-going, and yet I will push you as hard as I can to ensure that you achieve as much as you can! I can teach anyone, from beginning to advanced students.
Spanish speakers who are interested in learning English can keep in mind that I am particularly well-suited to teaching you. Because I speak Spanish and because my teaching experience has been with Spanish speakers, I am well-practiced in the language problems that often keep Spanish speakers from achieving their goals with English!
