I am very passionate about languages and have been teaching and learning them for as long as I can remember.
I have always struggled to teach myself new languages and I believe this gave me the understanding every teacher needs in order to teach a foreign language. Not only do I experiment with all kinds of methods and tools, but I also research the neuroscience of learning constantly to help me learn and teach more efficiently.
I don't impose anything on my students; I rather listen to what THEY want and why they plan to learn the language, and go on from there to teach them the most relevant things to their needs, so they would be engaged all the time.
I try to get the students conversing as soon as possible... and the grammar will build itself slowly ;)
I'm always surprised to see some of the old methods of language teaching that were used in schools 20 years ago still being used today, in spite of their obvious flaws. Particularly, ones related to teaching...
