Hi! I am a native Dane with a Master's degree in Danish from the University of Southern Denmark. I've worked as a Danish teacher since 2018 and I am trained in second-language learning and acquisition from Copenhagen University.
I acquired my love for Danish as well as Classical languages from my paternal grandmother, who was a Danish and History teacher for many years. With her, I developed a keen interest in teaching, and when I was about to finish Upper Secondary School, I knew that I wanted to do a Master's in Danish literature and Latin language.
At some times during my university studies, I had to study Latin on my own because very few people chose that minor. I often felt stuck and thought about quitting, but I tried to find the patience and I explored different methods in order to learn. My name is Amanda Christiansen. I'm from Copenhagen/Helsingør and work as a Danish lecturer at the University of Vienna. I have 8 years’ experience teaching Danish as a foreign language. I hold a B.A. in Teaching Danish, a M.A. in Scandinavian Studies and a M.A. in Teaching Danish as a Second/Foreign Language for Adults.
