I’m Ruby, a professional CELTA qualified English tutor with six-year teaching experience, a bachelor in philology, a teacher trainer, and a Cambridge English speaking examiner. I specialize in teaching General English, having conducted over 600 lessons online and having taught in a traditional language school. My name is John Garlinghouse and I'm an English Teacher from the United States. In 2017 I studied a CELTA course to improve my teaching, in particular regarding classes for adults. This experience has helped me to make my classes more dynamic so that the students learn in a relaxed setting while also having a good time. Currently, I live in Bogota, Colombia and teach English to mostly adults. I speak Spanish but I prefer not to use Spanish in class unless it is absolutely necessary. I am a native English speaker with 19 years experience teaching English as a foreign language. During my teaching career, I have taught thousands of private students and currently have a number of students, aged from 3 years to adult, including teenagers preparing for examinations required for entry to university. In addition to this I have worked in several private academies where the students have been of all ages and many working towards Cambridge exams (PET, FCE and CAE), IELTS, TOEIC.
