Hello! My name is Jose Mostajo. I was born in Lima, Peru, and grew up moving across Latin America before ending up in the United States in 2004. During my time here, I have been a Spanish tutor for students as well as adults, and been a document translator for people needing personal and business text written/proofread. In 2011 I took and completed a medical interpreter course in Atlanta Georgia for Spanish/English in-person translations and did that for the summer. This allowed me to help patients with a language barrier get the appropriate help needed.
When teaching, I believe in creating a positive and relaxed environment. Being comfortable makes learning more effective. Every person learns differently, and by communicating with each other, I look forward to structuring the lessons in a way that play to the student's strengths. My mother has been a Spanish teacher and tutor in the Georgia school system since we moved to the US, and she has guided me in creating effective course curriculums, as well as how to properly run one-on-one sessions.
