Hakkımda

Hi there. My name's David and I'm from the southeast of England.

I studied philosophy at the Universities of Southampton and Edinburgh. After my studies, I worked in the web industry as a content tester and manager. It was here that I reflected on what I wanted to do with my life and decided that I wanted to return to education - but this time as a teacher.

I've been teaching English in China for over five years. I have experience teaching students of all ages and levels in a variety of institutions.

Following the great 20th century philosopher Wittgenstein, I see language as something rooted in every day life. It is by seeing how language is used in practical situations that we acquire it. For this reason, I focus on practical situations to aid students in building up their spoken English. With more advanced students, I like to take them through more in depth texts so we can focus on more intricate grammar structures and look at some deeper vocabulary.

In my free time, I enjoy reading (especially history and philosophy) and listening to music.
