Hello! My name is Lauren, and I've been teaching English to speakers of other languages for over six years. I have a Master's Degree in TESOL from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre Performance from Towson Unviersity. I have taught English for academic and business purposes at the University of Pennsylvania, University of Delaware, Rowan University, and several other institutions on the U.S. East Coast. I also taught for a short time in Trujillo, Peru, and have given several workshops and presentations at international English teaching conferences, including Spain, El Salvador, and TESOL International. In addition, I have designed and delivered several custom English classes for various local business, and have extensive experience in one-on-one tutoring.

I have taught students at every level of English proficiency, and for all sorts of purposes - from basic survival, to workplace, to academic. Regardless of a student's skill level or motivation, I believe that students learn best when they feel supported, comfortable, and free to make mistakes without judgment. As such, I make every effort to build relationships with my students which encourage that learning environment and set my students up for success. I believe that language learning should be approached from a logical, yet creative place. I strive to give my students the skills they need to acquire language in a logical way, while keeping my lessons fresh, interesting, and fun!
