I offer conversation classes based on recent global events to help your vocabulary, pronunciation and confidence when speaking English.
I am a Native English Speaker from Manchester in the UK, although I have been living and working in Asia (mainly Thailand where I am now) since 2004 and have been teaching online for over 2 years. I have a BSc Hons degree in Psychology and love this subject - it gives insight into human behaviour which I find a constantly changing and fascinating subject. My main interests are current affairs - news and events from around the world and this is what my lessons are based on, consequently I do not teach students under the age of 17.
I have been teaching since 1984 and have a PGCE teaching qualification. Almost all of my English teaching has been with university students and staff (I ran teacher training courses for non-native English teachers). I have taught mainly pre-intermediate to higher intermediate level English and in addition to this helped students prepare for IELTS and Cambridge CAE exams. I am a recognised CAE Speaking examiner. I am a very relaxed teacher and this is reflected in my classes.
I retired from classroom teaching in 2015 and since September of 2016 have taught online. I love meeting new friends and helping them achieve their goals. I use my lessons on here to advise on English Speaking - focusing mainly on speed, intonation, pronunciation and communication skills. I do not give coaching lessons for exam preparation but firmly believe that time spent with me will help anyone feel more confident in any speaking and listening situation.
