Hello there!
I’m a passionate, animal-loving South African English teacher. I live in a city called Pretoria where I completed my Honours degree in Information Science with specialisation in (book) Publishing (University of Pretoria). This year (2020) I will complete my post-graduate certificate in education (further education and training, with English as my main subject.)
Reading (I worked as a bookseller for a few years), writing, painting , hiking and even public speaking are a few of the activities I enjoy.
I am TEFL qualified, and I speak fluent Afrikaans, one of my country’s indigenous languages; I took French as a subject in high school and I have tutored students (primary and high school) in these languages while I completed my degree. Some of my degree-related skills include copy writing, editing, proofreading, project management, digital marketing and social media content creation, management, analysis and reporting, demonstrating language in context and practice.
Pronunciation, language in context, and applied grammar particularly at intermediate or advanced level are my focus areas so that no matter your level, effective overall communication and your personal goals are prioritised.
I am detail oriented and committed to facilitating learning that strikes an appropriate balance between fluency and accuracy. You can expect patience, insight and helpful feedback as we work relentlessly (while enjoying the process) towards achieving your individual objectives.
