Do many teachers and students use multiple platforms to teach or learn language?

As a teacher I know many who use multiple platforms to teach english to keep their schedules full. How many of us use iTalki.com or Skype on the side, weyakyak.com and others? Maybe the students do the same.
Is it helpful to use two or three platforms?
