🌟 Learn Thai slang: ของตาย (kǎwng-dtaai)
3 個月前Did you know Thai has a slang phrase that literally means “dead thing” but actually has a very different meaning?
ของตาย (kǎwng-dtaai) = “sure thing,” “guaranteed,” or something that’s always available.
It can sound a little casual, sometimes even boring, like saying:
“Don’t worry, that’s a sure thing.”
“He’s always there for her. He’s basically her ของตาย (kǎwng-dtaai)”
It’s not always positive! Sometimes it suggests someone/something is taken for granted because it’s always there.
What is ของตาย (khǎawng-dtaai) in your life? Hopefully, nothing you take for granted. 🙂
