I have been teaching Turkish for seven years to a variety of age groups in the Czech Republic, Turkey, Serbia and online. Learning a new language should be fun and engaging. I follow "Inclusive Teaching" approaches. More precisely, I pay attention to different needs, learning styles, knowledge, and backgrounds of my students and adjust my lessons accordingly.

I was born in Istanbul in 1983. I started teaching Turkish while studying Turkish Language and Literature at university. I worked in a language school and at universities. I have been teaching Turkish professionally for more than 16 years. I also taught Turkish for 5 years when I was a university student. In 2018, I obtained a TESOL certificate and also began teaching English.
I teach both adults and children. Creating a comfortable learning environment for my students is one of my top priorities. If you would like to learn Turkish or English in a consistent and structured way, I would be happy to work with you.

It has always been a passion for me to learn about different languages and cultures. From my personal experience, I can say that understanding a specific culture requires the ability of speaking the language.
For instance, imagine yourself speaking Turkish while you are in Turkey, in restaurants, taxis, markets, shops... Your traveling experience becomes a completely different experience by interacting people in their native language. It helps you to socialize, bargain(!), to learn more about people and creates different perspectives in your mind. Even a "Merhaba" is highly appreciated in Turkey but if you choose having Turkish lessons with me, I can assure you to have longer conversations with Turkish people.

I am currently living in Portugal. I have lived in the past for a long period in the United States and Spain, so both English and Spanish may be used to support the teaching at a more productive pace. I research about the latest learning materials, customized to each student's personality and level, such as music, movies and easy-reading texts.
