I have taught English Grammar, Literature and Composition to secondary students in grades 5-12, as well as university students enrolled in freshman-level courses. I am passionate about helping others to communicate effectively and efficiently in order to articulate their ideas and empower themselves as global citizens.
I hold a Master of Arts in English Literature and Languages and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, both from The University of Texas at Tyler. I have served as an English teacher to students from varied backgrounds and of varying abilities for eleven years. I was honored to receive the Teacher of the Year award for my school in 2018. I have also conducted and presented research on the integration of multimodal texts in the English Language Arts classroom.
Learning a language should be an enjoyable experience, whether professional or personal reasons. I believe this is best accomplished through the creation and use of practical lessons that are tailored to the needs of the individual student. As a teacher, it is incumbent upon me to always assess my students' ability level and work from there to help them become more proficient in the target language!
