I'm a qualified teacher, with 9 years' experience in individual tutoring. I've helped many people improve their English as an additional language. I have a relaxed but focused style. I like to work with what I can see a person needs help with as we go along, rather than creating a fixed curriculum from the beginning. I'm happy to help with most aspects of the language, but do have a couple of focus areas that I especially like to work with: improved sentences, and pronunication/rhythm of speech. I find that these are the areas most intermediate and advanced learners still struggle with. I've learnt French and lived in-country, so I know what it's like to (a) learn another language, and (b) live and work in a country where you need to use it. This includes the difference between school learning and real-life use, and what you really need to communicate well.
