Hi! I'm Emma and I'm from the USA. I've got a bachelor's degree in theoretical linguistics, a master's degree in sociolinguistics and multilingualism, and I'm currently completing a second master's in second language teaching with an emphasis in ESL. I work as an English teacher both here on Verbling and at a local university. I've lived and studied in five countries and learned the language of each (or tried, anyway!). I love everything about language, including learning, teaching, and meeting people who speak different languages.
I feel strongly that language learning happens best when we use the language to communicate about something we care about, so my number one goal when teaching English is to use meaningful content. No matter your interests and goals, our lessons will be based around them -- that way, lessons will not only be more fun, but you're much more likely to make progress. We'll be working at a level that's challenging enough to help you learn and improve, but not so challenging that you become overwhelmed.
