Merhaba! I am a native Turkish teacher from Istanbul with 15 years of teaching experience. I speak a proper, very polite Istanbul dialect, which is highly recommended.
I am currently living in Portugal. I have lived in the past for a long period in the United States and Spain, so both English and Spanish may be used to support the teaching at a more productive pace. I research about the latest learning materials, customized to each student's personality and level, such as music, movies and easy-reading texts.
I encourage my students to talk slowly and correctly, focusing on interesting subjects, actual news or their specialty areas. Sometimes we will read from articles and repeat after each other. Also, we will have entertaining dialog and anecdotes, but we will mainly concentrate on learning grammar and pronunciation.
For beginners, I regularly provide self evaluation exams after completing each unit (3 PDF lessons) and assist in every step of the way in understanding it, both during the class and off-class. I will take the time to correct your exams and send the feedback beforehand, to have it ready for the following class. With this process, every class is tremendously productive and entertaining; while you are learning along, I will target your weaker areas, so there's no delay in the learning process.
For more advanced students, I prepare lessons beforehand, too, so we can have some conversational time and help with higher-level homework, as well. I will recommend more challenging learning materials, such as music, movies and books.
