Intense and Intensive

منذ ٦ أعوام
Hi. Teaching Poles the word "intensive" seems to pop up more than it should. The reason being that, unlike my native Portuguese which has both "intenso" and "intensivo," there is only "intensywny" in Polish which can translate to both "intense" or "intensive."
So for example they can say "That movie was intensive," and part of me tells me that the correct thing to say would be "That movie was intense." "Intensive" is for things like "intensive course." But then when I try to think of other situations where "intensive" would be appropriate nothing comes to mind, and then I wonder if somehow sometimes "intensive" can be synonymous to "intense."

May I have your intensive thoughts on this?
