I am a native English speaker with 19 years experience teaching English as a foreign language. During my teaching career, I have taught thousands of private students and currently have a number of students, aged from 3 years to adult, including teenagers preparing for examinations required for entry to university. In addition to this I have worked in several private academies where the students have been of all ages and many working towards Cambridge exams (PET, FCE and CAE), IELTS, TOEIC. Whilst working at Isabell International School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, I was solely responsible for every aspect within the English Department. During the summer months over the last six years, I have worked at several Summer Schools as part of the teaching team. I have been teaching English online for the last 3 years and have given over 2,000 classes. I like to use a variety of resources including course books and online interactive materials. A native British English speaker, I have been passionate about language learning since school. I studied Modern Languages at university in the UK, and continue to study Spanish, so understand the challenges of language learning from the student's perspective too. I did Cambridge CELTA teacher training at the end of 2016 (after years of informal teaching) and worked for two years in Colombia, with a wide variety of business, university, school and private students. Now back in the UK, I teach international learners of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and contexts. I love the variety of students and the breadth of teaching skills that entails. I have top qualifications and extensive experience, in general, business and academic English, as well as in Cambridge, IELTS and TOEFL international exams. Being a good teacher is all about working with the student to find the personalized way that most effectively helps them grow in confidence and achieve their goals. It’s about connecting...

Aside from teaching English, I am also a singer and vocal trainer. So, if you really struggle with pronunciation in English or want to reduce your accent, I will work with you on articulation, pronunciation and diction. I have developed and taught Music and Movement brain stimulation programs for young children for some years now and have found that acquiring a language has a musical element to it. Much like music, language is both mathematical with set structures and requires sound. In order to improve your speaking and interpretation, we need to address some key elements of speech: rhythm, stress syllables and to...
