Hi! My name's Kevin, an American expat living in Belgrade. I've been teaching English since 2011.
The final level of learning any language is sounding like a real person, not a robot. What I do is take the English you know and sculpt it into everyday words and expressions that native English speakers actually use.
For instance, you can say, "I understand" and everyone will understand. But if you said instead "I get it," you'll impress the native speaker to no end (trust me on this).
I have a range of topics to talk about, one per class, which will exercise your English in every which way. And if you don't like that, we can talk about what you want to talk about. I'm here to get your mouth moving, not dominate the dialogue.
See, all I do is ask you questions, then I listen to your answers, and if I think you said something that could be changed a little bit to sound more natural, I'll both say it and write it in the chat box, so that you can both see and hear my suggestion.
I like to have fun, and teach by example, not discipline and rules. I like to learn from others as well. So let's chat!
Please note: I am not qualified to instruct or help beginners, especially children. But there are many teachers here on Verbling who can. Please put yourselves in their capable hands before trying me out. Otherwise, it's just going to be torture for everyone.
Also: My introductory video was made years ago and I don't have the guts to go through that again. Just please don't be surprised - should you book a lesson with me - to see an old man looking back at you!
