Hi everyone! My name is Michael and I am from New York City. I have a Master’s in Teaching English as a Second Language, and I have been teaching English for the past 10 years all around the world.
I have taught in the United States, China, Spain, and Mexico. In Mexico, I have been working with the United States Consulate to train English teachers and improve English Education throughout the city of Guadalajara!
I have the most experience teaching in the following categories:
-Intermediate Conversation and Grammar
-Advanced Conversation and Grammar
-Job Interview Skills and Practice
The majority of my teaching experience has centered around teaching adult learners English at the university level. I have experience teaching adults from various different cultures, and at all levels of English.
When I am teaching, the most important things I keep in mind are making the lesson active and student-centered. I never lecture grammar rules, or have students take notes for an entire class.
I much prefer to have dialogues and create interactive activities with my students that get them using the grammar and vocabulary in a realistic way. This not only makes the classes more fun, but also makes difficult grammar easier to understand and more likely to be remembered.
If you have any questions, please feel free to message me here on Verbling to discuss further.
