Hello, I am Ashley Thompson, an experienced English teacher with over ten years of experience supporting life-long learners from around the world. I hold a Master’s degree in Education and specialise in helping my students communicate clearly, confidently, and naturally in English.
I work with anyone who wants to improve their conversation skills and speaking confidence, including support with IELTS preparation and exam strategies, professional and workplace communication, presentations, meetings, and conferences, job and visa interviews, formal speaking situations, as well as public speaking and debate strategies to improve clarity and eloquence.
Lessons with me are always personalised and focused on your specific goals, level, and timeline.
I have worked with learners just like you across more than 30 countries and understand the different challenges adult learners face, including overthinking, translating in their heads, and feeling unsure when speaking. My role is to help you break those habits and build strong, reliable communication skills.
My lessons focus on authentic language learning through active listening and the use of expressions to help shorten and clarify what you want to say. I help my students learn how to think in English and respond naturally, rather than relying on robotic or word-for-word translation.
Lessons are structured, supportive, and engaging. You will speak a lot, receive clear guidance, and leave each lesson knowing exactly what to practise next. I adapt activities in real time based on your needs and progress, ensuring steady improvement without pressure.
