Hello, I am Loukia and I am a native Greek tutor. I currently live in Thessaloniki, Greece.
I have a BA in Greek Classics, Literature, and Linguistics with a specialization in Linguistics, which has helped me truly understand how the Greek language works and explain it in a clear and simple way. I also hold a MA in Special Education and Learning Difficulties, so I know how to adapt my lessons to different learning styles and support students with learning difficulties.
For the past 6 years, I have been teaching Greek to students from all over the world, and it truly fascinates me to see their progress and growing confidence.
Because every student is unique, I always take into consideration their interests, goals, learning pace, and preferred learning style before preparing each lesson. Having studied foreign languages myself, I understand how challenging it can be to learn a new language. My lessons are friendly, supportive, and a safe space where mistakes are welcome and learning feels natural and enjoyable.
I am also the author of the beginner's Greek learning book “Yiannis at the Restaurant,” which focuses on real-life dialogues and practical communication. I often use similar realistic situations in my lessons to help students develop their skills and start using Greek naturally.
I work with students of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners who want to refine their Greek. My lessons focus on developing all four language skills—reading, writing, listening, and speaking—using a variety of interactive materials such as textbooks, videos, songs, comics, short stories, PDFs, and a shared whiteboard to clearly explain new vocabulary and grammar.
And because practice makes perfect, we will place special emphasis on speaking through real-life dialogues that help you use the Greek language with confidence in everyday situations.
