Hello everyone,
My name is Maria-Ifigeneia. I'm a native Greek speaker, currently living in Greece. I spent four years living in London, where I taught Greek as a foreign language. I hold a degree in Philosophy, Pedagogy, and Psychology from the University of Ioannina, which qualifies me to teach Greek professionally.
I have a passion for languages and enjoy discovering the connections between them. While each language is unique, there’s always some common ground to build on.
I speak English fluently and have a beginner's level in French and Spanish, so I truly understand the challenges of learning a new language — it requires patience, consistency, and motivation.
After graduating in 2011, I began teaching both Modern and Ancient Greek to Greek students preparing for their school exams. Over time, I discovered a deep interest in teaching Greek to non-native speakers, and since then, this has become my full-time profession.
In our lessons, we’ll explore all aspects of the Greek language — from grammar and vocabulary to culture and history. Every lesson will be tailored to your needs, because each learner is different. I’ll provide all the learning materials, and we’ll work on reading, speaking, grammar, and — most importantly — building your confidence to express yourself in Greek. That’s our ultimate goal!
After each lesson, I’ll give you homework so you can practise what you've learned and reinforce your progress.
