Cześć! Winter swimming? I don’t think so!

vor 3 Jahren
This week I have another news for you from the Polski Daily website!

Winter swimming is the activity of diving or swimming in the cold water, typically in the outdoor locations or in unheated pools or lidos. In colder countries, it may be synonymous with ice swimming, when the water is frozen over! This requires either breaking the ice or entering where a spring prevents the formation of ice. It is practiced in autumn and winter time, usually in groups.

Fans of winter swimming are commonly called „Morsy” so „Walruses” in Poland and they often gather in the organised clubs. The oldest club like this in Poland has been established in 1975 - „Walrus Club of Gdańsk”! It was in Poland, where the Guinness World Record has been established with the biggest number of people winter swimming during the International Convent of the Walruses in Mielno in 2015 :D

This winter, winter swimming came back to fashion in Poland! Youngsters use it as an occasion to show off with their fit beach bodies in the beautiful winter scenarios and the health benefits seem to be pushed a bit away from the main goals list 👍

The most important thing is to have someone by your side to take all kinds of sexy pictures of you, which you can later on post on your social media and get a looooooot of likes for them AND – tell all of your friends (and foes) that you winter swim!

Cheers!
