Hello! My name is Juan Francisco and I live in Mexico City. I dedicate my time to literature, film, music, and culture as a whole. I’m particularly helpful to two types of students: beginners who are struggling (I can help set you on a path of enjoyment and ease) and those eager to explore the culture and history of Mexico and Latin America. That said, I also cherish spontaneous conversations about daily life, and I’m genuinely interested in getting to know people from diverse backgrounds, understanding their perspectives, and exchanging our impressions of the world. And if you have grammar questions—I love grammar! so I’ll be happy to help.
I’ve been teaching since 2017, and I know firsthand how challenging learning a language can be. I’ve studied English, French, German, and Italian, so I understand the struggles, but I also know how to make the process enjoyable and effective. I can share strategies, insights, and guidance to help you learn with confidence.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies and a certificate in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, both from the National University of Mexico (UNAM). Beyond teaching, I am a published novelist and a regular contributor to Mexican art magazines.
During the trial lesson we will get to know each other a bit. I will ask you about your history with Spanish and your goals. Then we can talk about the structure of the class, the methodology, what you prefer in that area and my own recommendations (you are the boss). Afterwards we will try to speak a little Spanish, if your level allows it, and we will have a few more minutes to answer your questions and hear your comments. Don't stress out! It will be thirty gentle and friendly minutes.
