The Marostica living chess match

oggi vi voglio raccontare qualcosa su un evento storico che si svolge a Marostica, una bella cittadina, non lontano da Venezia.
Ogni due anni si gioca a Marostica, una partita a scacchi viventi, con personaggi in costume d'epoca. La tradizione risale al 1454, quando, secondo una leggenda, due nobili innamorati della stessa donna, si sono sfidati a scacchi per averla in moglie.

today, I want to tell you something about a traditional and historical event that takes place in Marostica, a nice city located in the north of Italy, not far from Venice.
Marostica is known as " the city of chess " because every 2 years, a living chess match is played there and all the participants wear traditional costumes.
According to a legend, the tradition started in 1454, when two young aristocratics fell in love with the same woman and decided to challenge each other with a chess-game, in order to marry her.
