Hi! My name is Sarah, and I am a 28-year-old Dane currently living in Sweden. I inherited my love for Danish and Ancient languages from my paternal grandmother, who was a Danish and History teacher herself for many years. With her, I developed a profound interest in teaching, and when I was about to finish Upper Secondary School, I knew that I wanted to do a Master's in Danish literature and Latin language. I had to study Latin almost on my own because very few people wanted to study it. I often felt stuck and thought about quitting, but I tried to find the patience and I explored different methods in order to learn. As a person, I am very patient, and for me, it is important that you feel comfortable showing me your difficulties and giving your opinion. I have been teaching Danish online for one year. Before that, I worked as a teaching assistant in an undergraduate introductory course in Danish language, culture, and history as part of an internship at Lund University. I have a...
I'm Nicolai and I’m a friendly and enthusiastic native Danish speaker from Denmark. I love meeting new people and to introduce the Danish culture and our language to others. I have found my passion for teaching through my travels in South America, where I was teaching English to kids in Colombia as a volunteer. Besides that, I am trying to learn Spanish, so I know how it is to learn a new language. But it has opened my eyes to the world of teaching and the joy of learning other people a new language and to achieve their goals. It will therefore be a pleasure to hear from you and teach you the special art of Danish. I will make materials special for you and to your needs. So, I will keep an eye on your needs and goals throughout our sessions, and make sure everything is going as planned. We can take it in any pace you want and make sure you are improving your Danish in a tempo taht suits you. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Have a lovely day. Vi ses!
Hej! My name is Amanda Christiansen. I'm from Copenhagen and work as a Danish lecturer at the University of Vienna. I have 5 years’ experience teaching Danish as a foreign language. I hold a B.A. in Danish, a M.A. in Scandinavian Studies and a M.A. in Teaching Danish as a Foreign Language for Adults. Furthermore, being quite the language learner myself I'm very aware of the challenges and manage to apply my practical learner experiences into my teaching to create a confident, mindfulll space for my students. Confidence, motivation and a conscious learner approach I believe to be the main driving forces for effective language acquirement. I aim for you to enjoy and get a lot out of every class, and by frequently applying a positive feedback loop, I will make sure that the class, our approach and the work material always stay in tune with your current needs, learning style, goals and interests. - Like that you will enjoy the time learning while experiencing great progress. ((NOT ACCEPTING NEW STUDENTS, UNFORTUNATELY!)) Hello, my name is Rebecca Rygaard. Recently graduated as a teacher of Danish and English for the primary and lower secondary schools in Denmark, according to the Bachelor's Degree Program in Education, from University College Copenhagen. I am born and raised in Denmark, and am a native speaker of Danish. In my teaching I use a communicative approach, focused on having us communicate with each other and produce language to learn it. We will learn both from "input" (what we hear, read) and "output" (what we say, write). This communicative approach will be focused on "real life" and authentic situations - that means that I'll actually base the teaching on my students lives. I.e. we could be talking about what has brought you to want to learn Danish. There will be authentic language only in this class - not language about hypothetical situations, that you might not ever need. As part of this method, we'll be using task-based learning -...
