Hi! My name is Rignald and I am an online Dutch teacher. I am a Dutch native speaker currently living in Florence, Italy. I have a Master of Arts in Languages and Linguistics from the University of Amsterdam. Learning foreign languages has always been my biggest passion. I have been teaching online for the past seven years for several language schools using different teaching platforms. I teach because it is fun. At secondary school, my friends asked me to help them with math and economics. I started teaching Dutch as a student at university. My pupils were usually business school students. Later on, I moved to a different university, in Nijmegen, and taught subjects like environmental economics, history and Dutch language. After finishing another project at the university, I decided to start my own IT company. As a company owner, I do projects for companies all over the world, including the department of Languages and Cultures at the University of London. Currently, I spend approximately half of my time as a language teacher and half of my time as an IT expert. I have also been working as a voluntary language teacher at a local organization in my city, which helps immigrants to start a new life in their new home country.

It took me a long time to find my real passion in my (work) life. After studying in two universities, graduating in two bachelors, travelling the world and working abroad for several years I realized public education is where my heart lies. Hi there
I was born in Belgium and Dutch is my native language.
I have always been interested in languages, not just using the language correctly but also trying to understand the evolution of the language and comparing different language groups. Although I was educated as an engineer, after the birth of the children and being always on the move, I had to reinvent myself. I started to give language courses.
Soon, I found out that I really enjoyed this and that I was actually good at it.
