Hello! My name is Estefanía Ortíz and I have been a Spanish teacher since 2007. I have taught people of different nationalities and different levels. I discover I wanted to be a full time teacher when I moved to Poland and started teaching sporadically. After I came back to Spain I took a course on teaching skills and started to teach independently. And I loved it! The more I taught the more I liked. I still love teaching cause I understand my culture better and the way Spanish people think. I find that fascinating. To me, explaining why we would say things in a certain way because of our culture is the best bit. Be sure you will always have contact with the real culture during our lessons. I usually take a coaching approach. That means we will set goals and every week we will review what we've done so far and what we can do next. My background is full of different activities, as engineering, hostel management or server, living in several countries (Portugal, Brazil, Canada,etc). So, after all my trips and experiences my path brought me here, to the educational and teaching world. For more than 5 years now I've been teaching Spanish to foreigners (ranging from 6 year olds to 70 year olds) from A1 level courses focusing on grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary acquisition and improvement of reading and listening skills to C1 level including DELE test preparation, high level conversational skills and discussion. Even though I've been doing most of my teaching at an academy, I have also done plenty of online classes through different platforms and using digital tools such as social media profiles, online magazines and newspapers to improve the learning experience.
