TOEIC - Profesorado de inglés online
Hello! I am Dani Cook from California. I am a graduate from UC Berkeley with a bachelors in English. I am a native English speaker and am currently traveling with my husband, devoting all my time to freelance work and English tutoring. My teaching career began in South Korea back in 2013 tutoring university students. Since then, I have continued to teach in South Korea at a private English academy and most recently, at a Korean Elementary school. I have also worked part time online for the last 2 years teaching students from all over the world and all ages in my spare time. I like to tailor my lessons to each student. Some wish to learn English which best suits a job interview while others wish to work on their speaking and writing. I can help with it all and am happy to do so!
Background: I’m a qualified English teacher with 7 years of experience in higher education. I’m highly educated in the field of languages and hold a BA Degree in Language and Culture, a BA(hons) Degree in French, a CELTA, and an MA in French. After my studies in South Africa, I moved to France where I taught English in both secondary and tertiary institutions. I’ve taught general, as well as specialised English: business, aviation, engineering, physics, chemistry and medicine. I’m currently a Learning Designer and work with top universities to design and produce online courses. How I approach my lessons: During the first lesson, I ask students to fill out a questionnaire which allows me to establish the strengths and weaknesses of the student as it pertains to English. I follow this up with a report and a “curriculum” designed according to the student’s areas of improvement. Lessons will be conducted accordingly. My areas of expertise: I specialise in English grammar and writing,...

I have seven years of experience working as an English Teacher. In that capacity I have taught classes with ages ranging from three to adult. I was responsible for preparing and planning lessons, using a progressive curriculum, checking students progress and altering lessons, if needed, to suit the needs of the students. What I have learnt over the years is that a teacher needs both patience and a great sense of fun both to meet the challenges in the classroom and to make learning enjoyable. A teacher also needs to be engaging so that the student wants to progress, and also flexible to adjust to the student pace and style. I really enjoy seeing students succeed. For example, I had one boy who started at age three with no English. After five years of teaching him we could talk at length in English.
