Been teaching English as a foreign language since 2009 and still loving every single moment of it!
My name is Bridgette, I am a native English speaker and I live in beautiful, sunny South Africa. I am originally from Cape Town – South Africa's 'Mother City' which is where my love for art and different cultures was solidly forged.
Since 2009 I have taught English to students from all over the world and taught at 2 different immersion language schools in South Africa, as well as keeping online contact with many of my students through the years to continue providing a fun conversational platform. I absolutely love learning about different cultures and meeting interesting people!
With me as your tutor, your English will improve in leaps and bounds amidst loads of laughter in a fun-filled environment! I find it incredibly rewarding to witness my students strive and improve their communicative skills, travel options, careers and confidence.
Our lessons will incorporate discussions about previous assignments, addressing the issues that come up, reading, general conversation, improving your vocabulary, pronunciation, comprehension, debate, roleplay, fluency, lesson plans created around your specific needs, as well as editing previous work so that you may learn from your own mistakes. I also especially enjoy focusing on writing, as this fundamental English area is often overlooked.
I will introduce a variety of reading materials, movies, documentaries, song lyrics, discussion topics, worksheets, flash cards and various other teaching media - so if you have a sense of humour (and want to learn to laugh in English) and are willing to put in the time and effort – I'm your English diva!
