Ciao, mi chiamo Maria Giulia! My name is Maria Giulia, but you can call me Mary! I come from Lucca, an exquisite city in Tuscany, and I have been teaching Italian for three years, both online and at schools and universities. I am currently teaching Italian at the National University of Ireland, in Galway.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in English and French Translation and Interpretation, and a Master's degree in Literary Translation.
Italian is a wonderful language, rich in history, culture, food, music, art; that is why it is important to learn it in its context, and not just study its grammar and do exercises.
I work on every possible level: speaking, reading, watching, writing, understanding, comparing, exercising on grammar. Each and every of these are essential and must be integrated to learn a language.
I have been studying foreign languages for many years, and I know that every student has specific needs, times and interests, so I will not follow a prearranged program, I will just let you guide me and suggest which path is the most suitable for you!
During our first lesson we will talk about your goals and I will assess your level of Italian, so that we can shape the following lessons on your interests and needs.
I'll provide you with all the material you need, including the documents we'll share during the lesson and homework.
If you find my availability is not suitable for you, send me a message and we'll try to arrange!
