Hi everyone! My name’s Martina and I’m a native Italian speaker.
I was born in Pisa (in the wonderful Tuscany!) 27 years ago. I consider myself an outgoing person. I enjoy nature, good food, music and spending time with friends. Most of all, I LOVE travelling and making new experiences and discovering other cultures.
I’ve earned a Master’s degree in Languages and international communication in Rome and I have the DITALS I certificate for Italian teachers. I'm currently working as Italian language assistant in three different high schools in France.
The first thing to keep in mind about me as teacher is: I'm your tutor, which means I'm here TO GUIDE YOU AND SUPPORT YOU, NOT TO JUDGE YOU! I want you to feel AT EASE and most of all to ENJOY our time together. I'm a cheerful, empathic and patient person by nature, so we'll take all the time you need to progress on our way to the Italian language, don't worry!
My method is based on the COMMUNICATIVE APPROACH, which is focused on the learner and his/her specific needs and preferences, as well as on the concept of the language as something “alive”. You will have an ACTIVE ROLE and will be fully involved!
Lessons are COMPLETELY TAILORED TO THE STUDENT’S NEEDS, INTERESTS AND GOALS.
• We want to become able to ACT WITH LANGUAGE! My lessons concentrate mainly on acquiring the ABILITY OF COMMUNICATING IN REAL LIFE SITUATIONS AND CONTEXTS, more than on repetitive grammar or mechanical exercises. Of course some space is left to grammar and syntax;
• HAVING FUN is the first rule! Learning is easier in a pleasant environment;
• I like to VARY and use DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES: conversations, games, videos, music, articles, so that we won’t get bored;
• Language also means CULTURE: I’m sure you’d also like to know something about Italian lifestyle!
