thank you for viewing my profile. My name is Kay and I give German lessons online.
I have experience teaching German and English to German natives and to foreigners. I also have experience writing and editing texts for publication, and I have corrected many texts written by non-native German speakers on a different language learning website. I can speak English fluently, so I am able to explain finer points of German in that language as well.
I have worked with children deemed "difficult" by others, but I have learned that those labels do not matter and instead try to keep an open mind with every new student and try to help them in their unique situation. I am supportive and easy-going. I am flexible in the way I correct (few or many corrections) and the topics we talk about. If you wish to take exams, I can train you as I am a licensed examiner for several German exams up to level B2 (telc). My teaching method is very personal and individually-tailored. I have often taught medical staff, such as MDs, and have a licence in teaching German for medical professionals. I am a fulltime professional teacher for German as a foreign language for over 7 years and also have a background in teaching and design. I create my materials in InDesign and use my recording equipment to record listening materials in Audition for Memrise. I am a certified TestDaF and telc examiner. I specialise in test preparation (Goethe-Zertifikat, TestDaF, telc, ÖSD, fide, etc.).
I offer both general German language lessons and specific courses of grammar, conversation, writing, test preparation and interview preparation. My focus is on intermediate and advanced German learners, who need a higher level of accuracy and fluency in terms of exposition, argumentation and self-expression.
