I used to want to be a pilot

I used to want to be a pilot, but now I'd rather be a teacher!

We use USED TO to describe something that was true in the past, but now it isn't true any longer.

In the example above, "I used to want to be a pilot" means that in the past, this was true. I did want to be a pilot was I was growing up. But now, I don't want to be a pilot anymore. Now it is not true.

Using USED TO & USE TO are tricky for some people, so I have created this tutorial to help you learn and use them correctly.

I specialise in business English for non-native speakers at B1 level and above. In our lessons, we work on real situations you face at work: team meetings, client presentations, negotiations, and delivering difficult news.
