Could you help me choose the correct answer?

P.S.: I an choosing between A elderly and B out-of-date. To me "elderly" seems related to people and "out-of-date" seems add if I talk about forestes. What does it mean "out-of-date" does it mean that they need to be udated. I would use this word talking about computers in most of the cases. You see, such a predicament. If I were to make a choice I would go with "elderly" since people and trees are living beings. "Out-of-date" is more used with lifeless objects.
