Are you stuck in a rut?
Stuck in a rut is a term related to an animal, for example a lion in a zoo or a bull in an enclosure, the rut is the little space he has to walk up and down never departing from that path.
You've got to think out of the box.
Think out of the box means to think differently from everyone else. You are not constrained by normality or what others think or even your own previous thought patterns.
You've got to dream big and make it happen.
Dream big means to think of something you want that could be worth doing.
For me, dreaming big and thinking out of the box do not have material outcomes as primary benefits. It is the material which serves spiritual aims. The fulfillment and accomplishments of our personalities and life goals serve as lessons to broaden our horizons, but ultimately it is reaching out to discovery of a new truth or a truth which is new to us, that is the real reward for our efforts.
Often I find language has limiting attributes, a system with defined limitations and accepted norms, which is why most teachers, (myself included) often sound like total bores. I fall asleep while teaching "grammar" or saying "this is how it is, this is the accepted normal speech". Obviously learning rules are important, but once you have those fundamentals, once you know how to do something, we need to use language to promote freedom, and we start with our own freedom, the freedom to express our feelings and bring spiritual truth into normal everyday conversation.
If you are a teacher, try not to be another brick in the wall. If you are a student, work out what it is you want to do first, then worry about the details. Details are important, but they are after all just another box, or rut. Work out what's worthwhile to do.
