Cześć! Did you get something from Santa this December?

5 лет назад
This week I have another news for you from the Polski Daily website!

It was exactly last Monday – December 6th - the day when Santa Claus comes to children and grownups (of course, to the nice ones!) in Poland! He comes in his sleigh in the middle of the night, and the presents – depending on the region – he leaves either underneath your pillow, or in a shoe. The shoe has to be waiting on the window sill and it has to be clean and shiny! :D

The gift is rather small, before on December 24th, under the Christmas tree, there will be many more! On „mikołajki” (Santa Claus Day) kids usually get sweets, or one simple thing like a book, a game or a CD / vinyl record. And if you’ve been bad, under your pillow you might find a „rózga”! It’s a kind of a broom, that was used in the passed times to punish your kids with – you could’ve got hit with it by your dad on the butt. Of course, these days you don’t hit your children (even when they’ve been bad!), so the rózga is just a symbol, a sign for the kid that they didn’t deserve a gift from Santa, as they are on His list of bad children!

Cheers!
