Modern Standard Arabic or Egyptian dialect

I get that question quite often. Do we learn Modern Standard Arabic or Egyptian dialect? or any other dialect? 

The answer depends on your goal of learning the language. Let me explain,
if you are interested in speaking with people ,and having a daily life conversation with those people of the country you are visiting, then learning the dialect is optimal.

However, if you are interested in reading articles, books, news, or official papers, then Modern Standard Arabic is your choice.
