💊 SPANISH PILL: Introduce vs. Presentar

2 часа назад

🚨 TODAY’S TRAP: INTRODUCIR

INTRODUCIR ≠ TO INTRODUCE A PERSON

In Spanish, introducir usually means to insert, put or place something inside something else.

💳 Debes introducir la tarjeta en el cajero.
🔑 Introduce la llave en la cerradura.
📄 Introduzca sus datos en el formulario.

So if you say:
“Let me introduce you to my friend.” and translate it as:
“Te voy a introducir a mi amigo.”
…your Spanish teacher might need a little coffee. 😂☕

🤝 THE WORD YOU NEED: PRESENTAR
When you want to introduce a person to another person, use:
PRESENTAR

👋 Profesor, le presento a mi amigo John.
🙋‍♀️ Me presento: soy Alex.
👩‍💼 Quiero presentarte a mi hermana.

🧠 EASY TRICK TO REMEMBER

INTRODUCIR → things 📦 PRESENTAR → people 👋
Think:
👉 Introduce an object = INTRODUCIR 👉 Introduce a person = PRESENTAR
